The Creative Process: From Blank Canvas to Finished Piece

The blank canvas is not an empty space; it’s a space of infinite possibility. For me, the creative process is less about a plan and more about a conversation. It starts with a single color, a single brushstroke, driven by an emotion or a memory.

From there, it’s a dance of intuition. Layers are built up, scraped away, and reapplied. Textures emerge, sometimes by design, sometimes by happy accident. This is the most exciting phase—where the painting begins to speak and guide my hand. It tells me what it needs: more depth here, a splash of light there. The final piece is not just an image; it’s a record of that journey, a fossil of the creative process itself.
